3/5/07 Tempest announces new Short Nose Storm. Tempest Lighting, Inc., manufacturer of environmental enclosures for moving lights, video projectors and ellipsoidal fixtures announces the development of the new 5050/5150 Short Nose Storm Enclosure. When asked about the new design, Chris Martin, General Manager stated “with this new addition to the Storm product line, we are able to offer more choices to the designer/specifier.”
The new shorter nose allows the use of wide angle fixtures 50 degrees and larger like the new 70 and 90 degree Source 4 from ETC. It is also well suited for smaller fixtures like the Rosco XFX, Robert Juliat Quincy 421, and small format video projectors. The new short nose Storm is shipping now!

2/10/07 Tempest announces full line of lighting enclosures. Tempest Lighting Inc., Manufacturer of environmental enclosures for moving lights, video projectors and ellipsoidal fixtures announces the hiring of Tim Baca as VP of Sales. When asked about his new position, Tim said “I’m excited for this new opportunity to help Tempest grow in the entertainment lighting market. We’re in a specialized field, but provide a much needed solution to integrators, moving light manufactures, engineers and architects who need to take theatrical lighting outdoors.”
Tempest is expanding their product line to include enclosure for video projectors of all sizes, allowing rental companies and permanent installations to bring moving digital media outdoors while still protecting their equipment investment.
Tim has a long history in the lighting world. He was previously at Brightline as Western Regional Sales Manager, TMB, Touring electrician with Disney on Ice, Technical Director of the B Street Theatre in Sacramento, and Master Electrician of the Dillard Theatre at Lynchburg college in Virginia, his Alma Mater, where he holds a BA in Theatre Design and Technology.
